How I can help

Families come to me for many different reasons. Sometimes a child has an established diagnosis or significant developmental needs. Sometimes communication, learning, change, behaviour or everyday situations are proving difficult. Sometimes parents simply know that something isn’t working and want help making sense of it.

Support can be practical and focussed, or take a broader look at what’s going on. We might work together around communication, engagement and learning, flexibility, behaviour, everyday routines, nursery or school, or understanding what may be contributing to a difficulty.

Communication and connection

When a child is finding it hard to express themselves, understand others, engage or connect.

What we might work on

Learning and participation

Supporting children to engage with learning, build confidence and persistence, and make progress in literacy, numeracy and other key skills.

Everyday situations

Support with routines, transitions, frustration, change, independence and situations that regularly become difficult.

Understanding behaviour

Looking at what may be contributing to behaviour and what may help.

Nursery and school

Helping families understand concerns, reports and recommendations, think through what support may be useful, and work constructively with nursery or school.

Assessment, observation and consultation

Observation, making sense of what is happening, and agreeing practical next steps with families and professionals.

Support can take different forms

Depending on what would be useful, I may work directly with your child, meet with you for consultation, observe at home, nursery or school, or work alongside other people involved in their support, We can decide together what makes sense for your situation.

Not sure where to begin?

You don’t need to know what kind of support you need before getting in touch. Tell me a little about your child and what you’d like help with, and we can work out a sensible next step.
